Admissions Policy
Any student living within the territorial limits of Lourdes Regional, which includes all of Northumberland County and parts of Montour and Columbia Counties, may attend Lourdes Regional High School provided admission requirements are met. Lourdes Regional admits students of any race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, sex, age, or handicap to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to its students. Lourdes Regional High School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national and ethnic origin, sex, age, or handicap in its administration of its education and admissions policies, scholarship and financial assistance programs, or athletic and other school-administered programs. Code of Conduct Lourdes students are guaranteed the right to attend classes in a well-ordered atmosphere, which is conducive to learning. This is based on the premise that the environment of the school is clean, healthy, and orderly. Our regulations are determined in such a way that the students are encouraged to become the best they are capable of being. Motivated by these intentions, students are expected to strive for excellence in academics and in the practice of the social graces and the virtues associated with living the Catholic faith exemplified in the Gospels and in our Christian Tradition. Harassment Lourdes Regional School will not tolerate any form of harassment of a person by another person or persons. The School prohibits any form of harassment of or by employers, employees, students, or volunteers. Any accusation will be investigated (be it sexual, ethnic, physical, etc.) and appropriate discipline will be meted out, up to and including expulsion, depending on the seriousness of the offensive conduct. Office Hours Office hours during the school year are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For attendance, calls should be made before 7:45 a.m. to 644-0375 (Ext. 2). Telephone messages to or for students will be delivered only after the final dismissal of the day. In case of an extreme emergency, the message will be given to one of the administrators who will relay it to the student. Visitors Visitors are welcome at Lourdes Regional School. Visitors must report to the Main Office upon arriving at Lourdes. Identification badges are to be worn while in the school building. Visitors from other schools are welcome after permission is obtained from the Principal at least one (1) day prior to the anticipated visit. Tuition Tuition is a fee that each family agrees to pay to the school in exchange for enrollment and education of the student. The amount is determined annually by the Board of Education. Parents are expected to pay one-tenth of the total tuition on the first day of each month beginning August 1. The final payment is due on May 1. Tuition Assistance/Scholarships Students who attend Lourdes Regional may be eligible for Tuition Assistance and/or Scholarships. Contact the Development Office, Ext. 127, for further information. School Delays or Closings School delays or closings may occur during the year due to inclement weather or other unforeseen events. We follow the Shamokin Area School District for delays, closings, and early dismissals. The information will be communicated through the local radio and/or television stations, generally before 6:30 a.m. Students who reside in districts other than Shamokin should always follow the directions of their respective districts. If Shamokin is closed, then Lourdes is closed. Please do not call the school office for information on delays and/or closings. Religious Opportunities

Special programs provide students with avenues of help. Consultants are also available from the Northumberland County Drug/Alcohol and Mental Health Services. Pennsylvania Department of Education Act 89 provides special services from the CSIU (Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit).
